About

Dr. Soltys grew up in southern Ohio and attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University in Columbus, OH. After graduating, she worked as the Infection Control Fellow for The Ohio State University Veterinary Medical Center and was also involved in developing a veterinary-specific antimicrobial stewardship program. She then returned to school at the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pullman, WA and completed a PhD in Veterinary Sciences (Immunology and Infectious Disease) and a residency in Veterinary Clinical Microbiology. After completing her PhD and residency, she worked as a consultant clinical microbiologist at the Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory, and taught bacteriology/mycology and virology at WSU. Her interests include antimicrobial resistance, responsible antimicrobial use, and zoonotic and foodborne diseases.
